Directorate Schooling
The Institute runs a network of six schools located in various regions of the country as well as the Gandhian Basic School which specialises in prevocational education based on Gandhian principles. The Mahatma Gandhi Institute Secondary School (MGISS) was set up in 1975 and the Gandhian Basic School was set up in 1984. In 2002, the Rabindranath Tagore Secondary School started to operate whereas the other Mahatma Gandhi Secondary Schools in Moka, Flacq and Solferino welcomed the first batches of students in 2003. The Mahatma Gandhi Secondary School of Nouvelle France was set up in 2005. The schools are well-established and have successful track record in both educational and cultural terms. All the Secondary Schools admit students from grade 7 to 13.
